Yes. We show them as they look in the photo you choose, so pick the one you love most. If the photo is black and white, you can tell us their hair and eye color, and we'll show them in color.
Yes. Tap "Add a pet" and add a clear photo of them, up to two pets. We keep their coat, markings and size. Old and black-and-white photos work too.
Pick a photo where the face is big, sharp and well lit, looking at or near the camera. Close-ups work better than photos taken from far away. Skip sunglasses, filters and beauty effects. If your favorite photo has other people in it, add it anyway and frame the right face. For someone living, a photo taken by someone else from a few steps away looks more like them than an arm's-length selfie.
Scan it at 600 dpi if you can (1200 dpi for very small prints). Or take it out of the frame, lay it flat by a window in daylight, turn the flash off and hold your phone straight above it. The free Google PhotoScan app removes glare. The bigger and sharper the face, the more the portrait will look like them.

Because you see your portrait before you pay, a digital file can't be returned once it's sent. If your file doesn't match the preview you chose, or won't open, email us within 30 days and we'll fix it or refund you. If a canvas arrives damaged or with a printing defect, we'll replace it free.
Yes. Your photos are used only to make your portrait. We never share them or use them in ads, and we delete them within 30 days. Email us if you'd like them deleted sooner.
